Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Conservation Officer Jeremy King says criminal charges are pending in the shooting of Guthrie Center resident Richard Groom. Groom was turkey hunting west of Guthrie Center on Saturday, when he was shot in the torso by another hunter. King says the DNR is working with Guthrie County Attorney Mary Benton and charges should be filed by the end of the day.  Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.

4-22-15 UPDATE: Guthrie County Attorney Mary Benton says the investigation is still open and gives no timetable as to if or when charges will be filed.
