Abnormally dry conditions continue in portions of the Raccoon River Valley, despite the fact that we received nearly three times as much precipitation this week as we did throughout the entire month of February.
According to the National Weather Service, Perry received 0.83 inch of rain this week, Jefferson saw 0.88 inch and Guthrie Center received 0.85 inch.
Typically, our local weather reporting areas see between 3.37 and 3.76 inches of rain in the month of April.
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor shows the east-southeast portion of Guthrie County is still listed as abnormally dry.
There is a strong chance of thunderstorms in the forecast for Monday.
