The Greene County girls and boys host the annual Greene County Early Bird Coed track and field meet in Jefferson at Linduska Field on Monday, March 30. Early weather forecasts indicate sunshine and at least 60 degrees, which is good news for all concerned.

Boys head coach Dean Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio he looks forward to Monday’s meet. “It’s a great chance to get everybody some competition. We had the indoor meet in Storm Lake last Friday, which was good, but the indoor track is 200 meters compared to 400  outdoors, and you don’t have all the events at an indoor meet that you do outside.” The coach indicated he’ll start to put some relays together and get a better idea of what the Rams may have for the 2015 season.

Monday’s meet begins at 4:30 p.m. and no team score will be kept. Other teams scheduled to compete include Paton-Churdan, Woodward-Granger, Guthrie Center, CMB (Baxter), Manson-Northwest Webster, and South Hamilton (Jewel),
