Four boys from Greene County High School are playing soccer this Spring at Boone High School through a cooperative sharing agreement. They are juniors Mac Adamson and Anthony Cunningham, plus sophomores Marcelo Alarcon and Nick Schroeder.
Cunningham told Raccoon Valley Radio that much of the early season practices have been spent on conditioning and he explained why that’s important. “There’s lots and lots of running. I read a statistic that the average soccer player runs four to five miles every game, so we have to be ready for that.” The Greene County junior talked about goals for the upcoming season. “Play better defensively as a team. We lost a lot of seniors off our back four, so we need to work on our communication and just getting into the groove of things again.
Cunningham said the team looks pretty good so far, including Schroeder, who hasn’t played competitive soccer in recent years.
