The Glidden-Ralston (G-R) and Paton-Churdan (P-C) School districts wasted very little time in selecting their new shared superintendent for the upcoming school year.
Glidden-Ralston Principal Kreg Lentsch was approached by the G-R School Board about the position and after discussions with the P-C School Board, he was offered the job.
Lentsch graduated from G-R High School in 1984. He has 25 years of experience in education, has been with the district for 15 years and, the last ten years as its principal. Lentsch talks about why he wanted to be a superintendent.
“I felt like I had something to offer to maybe provide more of a direction to school districts, be on the financial-end a little bit, be on the leadership-end a lot. And it just kind of looked like superintendency was the next step for me. So I took that leap.”
He’s excited to start his new position and plans to stay for a long time. He has children currently in the school district. He has ten children including four step-children and one grandchild. His wife Angela works as a guidance counselor at Odebolt-Arthur & Battle Creek-Ida Grove School District.
He will take over as superintendent of both districts on July 1st.
