West Central Valley basketball star Bailee Arnburg recently committed to play at Des Moines’ Grand View University. West Central Valley Activities Director Tod Broman says Arnburg should serve as an inspiration to show her fellow student athletes, that just because they play for a small rural high school, doesn’t mean that they can’t get the opportunity to play at the next level. “We hope that would serve as an impetus. Get people to realize that college sports is attainable. Yes, Bailee is a very talented athlete, one of the finest girls we’ve ever had come through here. But people should also realize that you don’t have to be a Division I athlete, you can find success at one of the lower divisions.”

Because Grand View is an NAIA school, it is able to offer scholarships to students like Arnburg, unlike smaller division NCAA schools who can not offer scholarships.
