There are a few activities coming up for families to enjoy in Jefferson.

Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says the second annual Mother/Son Date Night is happening tomorrow evening from 6-8:30pm at the Greene County Community Center.  There is a $20 per couple fee and $5 for any additional boy.  It is for boys ages pre-kindergarten through fifth grade and their mothers, grandmothers or mother-figures.  Pizza and refreshments will be provided.  Lautner talks about some of the details that night.

“We are going to add some new games, that will be a surprise.  We did do some football throwing last year and of course we’ll have the beanbag game out.  Some of the mothers played H-O-R-S-E with their sons.  So, we’ll keep them busy while they’re here.”

Free tickets and transportation will be provided to this Saturday’s Shrine Circus at the Jacobson Building on the Iowa State Fairgrounds.  A school bus will leave the community center at 12:30pm on Saturday, March 21st and will return following the event.  It is free and open to the public.  Anyone fifth grade and under must be accompanied by an adult.
