The 2015 Greene County High School girls and boys track & field squads will be unveiled today in Jefferson on the Linduska Field track at the annual Media Day. Kelly Simpson is the girls’ head coach and Dean Lansman is the boys’ head coach. Nearly 60 girls and boys are out for the sport with a nearly even split between males and females. Nearly a dozen Greene County athletes have previous State meet experience with the majority of State qualifiers from the girls’ side. Coaches and athletes will address media members today to talk about expectations for the 2015 season.

Some of the Greene County girls have had indoor competition earlier this week in Ames at the High School Classic hosted by Iowa State University. Nearly full boys and girls teams are expected to compete tomorrow (Friday) in Storm Lake indoors at the Buena Vista University high school meet. The outdoor season for the Rams is slated to begin on Monday, March 30 in Jefferson at the Greene County Early Bird Meet.
