Several Greene County students performed last weekend in Nevada at the Iowa High School State Individual Speech Contest.
Greene County High School Speech Co-coach Glenna Strong says David Peterson was named an outstanding performer for solo musical theatre and will perform at the all-state festival. She notes that in order to be nominated for all-state, the performer must receive straight I-ratings from the judges and be selected as an outstanding performer.
GCHS had eight other students receive I-ratings but weren’t nominated for all-state and there were 11 II-ratings. Paton-Churdan sent five events to the state contest and had one student receive an overall I-rating and the rest had II-ratings.
The all-state festival will be at the University of Northern Iowa on Monday, March 30th.
