Another sex offender has moved to Perry.

According to a public notification, 34 year-old Shane Tylor Smith of 1206 Paul Street, Apartment 1 in Perry is a member of the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.

His registration is the result of a 2005 conviction of solicitation to commit felony in Boone County when he was 23, against a female victim between the age of 14 and 17.

According to the state sex offender database, there are currently two dozen registered sex offenders living within a 5 mile radius of Perry.
