Again this year, a Dallas County Hospital employee has been named to the list of 100 Great Iowa Nurses for 2015.
Chief Clinical Officer Donna Vandehaar has been with Dallas County Hospital for a decade. She has more than 40 years of experience in healthcare and has served in a number of capacities at hospitals in western and central Iowa.
Her colleagues noted that “Donna is the consummate of eagerness and willingness to mentor and support any nurse, and others, in any way she can. She is a trusted colleague and a valuable resource.”
Dallas County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Matt Willie says they are very proud of Vandehaar and her “amazing achievements.” Willie says she is the “foundation” of nursing at the hospital and gives nothing less than 100 percent each and every day.
The 100 Iowa Great Nurses program was founded in 2005 to honor the profession of nursing and advance the education of nurses in Iowa. Honorees are chosen using a point system and reviewed by past honorees.
Vandehaar will receive her award at the annual recognition event on May 3rd.
