sierra theatreThe Greene County Library Association invites all teens to a free movie at the end of this week.

Jefferson Library Director Jane Millard says they will be showing “Insurgent” at the Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson at 4pm on Friday, March 20th.  The movie is based on the second book in a series by Veronica Roth.  Millard points out that last year, they showed the first movie “Divergent” and received a great response.

“We saw a lot of traffic in all the (Greene County) libraries to read the whole series.  To get a head of the movies, of course you need to read the books, so that you know what’s going to happen.  Before and right after the movie, all the libraries enjoy a huge increase in interest in this series of books.”

The movie is free for the first 200, 6th through 12th graders that pre-register at any of the County libraries.  The movie is rated PG-13 and each teen that gets in for free will receive either a free bag of popcorn or $2 off at the concession stand.  Parents and siblings are welcome to attend with regular admission price.

The event is sponsored by the Greene County Library Association and the Greene County Board of Supervisors.
