The West Central Valley girls track team will run in their first meet of the season Monday at Iowa State University. Head coach Mike Vokes says they’ve been preparing in a variety of ways. “We had a hurdle clinic this weekend. I had a former athlete come in. I used to coach at Spirit Lake. She came down, and gave the college perspective to about ten kids — a few pointers here and there. That was kind of fun to watch.”

Vokes says his team has been taking advantage of the nice weather this week by practicing outside.
