The Jefferson VFW Hall recently underwent renovations after non-toxic black mold was found in the building.
Despite all of the improvements, there is one major project left to complete and that is a new roof. Currently the roof is leaking and is in disrepair. Jim Andrew with the local American Legion says a new roof is costly and most of their funds were used to make improvement to other parts of the building.
The public is asked to help make monetary contributions to install a new roof. All donations are tax deductible and can be made at People’s Trust and Savings Bank or Home State Bank.
The building is used by the local VFW Post #9599 as well as the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Post #11 for meetings and other events.
