Official results from the University of Northern Iowa’s high school boys Dickinson Relays that took place on Tuesday were released on Thursday, in what was the first invite of the season for a young ADM boys track team.

The youth movement was in full display for ADM’s 4 x 200 relay team of sophomores David Howard, Sam McCartney, Austin Flora and senior Kole Merical, which took 35th out of 55 teams with a time of 1:41.3. In the 4×800, freshman Philip Hlas teamed with seniors Connor Slater, Jesse Zika and Elijah McCartney to take 43rd out of 48 teams (10:03.2).

The best faring relay team was ADM’s 4×400 group of Howard, Sam McCartney, fellow sophomore Reece McLaughlin and junior Brady Perry, who took 31st with a time of 3:56.91 in the 51-team field.

Individually, the Tigers’ best individual performances came from a pair of freshmen. Gavin Osteen took 52nd in the field of 152 in the 200m dash with a time of 25.26 seconds. In the 400m, Trey Volz was 68th out of 139 runners with a time of 57.86. And in the 60m hurdles, more underclassmen lead the way. Sophomores Caleb Weddle and Jacob West took 61st and 71st with times of 10.2 and 10.4 seconds, respectively, in the field of 157.
