The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual dinner in less than a month and nominations are needed for the four awards that will be handed out on Tuesday, April 7th.
Executive Director Bob Wilson says this is one of the highlights of the year and he wants everyone to share their thoughts on who deserves to be recognized.
“A very important part of the evening, which I think we don’t do enough of, is recognizing those people that are really making this the best community that it can be. We’ve gotten a few good nominations. There are so many people out there doing so many great things that it makes me so nervous to overlook someone, or a group that’s really stepping up. So please help us. Somebody or some business that you think is really stepped up to be the strong supporters that we need.”
This year there will be four awards handed out. The Spirit of Perry is for the business that best embodies the spirit of the Chamber and community. Citizen of the Year is for an individual that continually strives for the betterment of Perry. Volunteer of the Year is the person or group who gave their time to help promote and improve the Chamber and the community and a new Young Professional of the Year award.
If you have a nomination, stop by the Chamber office or call 465-4601. Nominations are due by March 20th.
