The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the 2015/16 fiscal year budget at their meeting Tuesday. The budget lowers property tax rates for rural and urban properties. The urban levy was lowered from $5.32 to $4.87 per thousand dollars of valuation. The rural levy was lowered from $7.80 to $7.35 per thousand dollars of valuation. The rate change is due to an increased value of property in the county. In the past fiscal year, total property valuations in Guthrie County increased by 2.14%.
