The Adel City Council will meet in regular session tonight.
Items on the agenda include a public hearing in regards to the proposed fiscal year 2016 budget, consideration of a resolution that makes the library a part of the City’s Capital Improvement Plan and consideration of a resolution delaying the police department’s payment of $10,000 for the flood mitigation system that was purchased in 2011 by one year.
Next the Council is expected to approve the proposed fiscal year 2016 budget, approve the final payment and close out of the water tower painting project and approve special event and sound permit applications from the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce for their Free Friday series and Sweet Corn Festival.
The Council will then consider appointing interim City Administrator Anthony Brown to the position full time. Brown has been filling in for the position since July. His selection to become a permanent member of the City’s management team was a unanimous decision by the Council and comes with a $65,000 annual salary.
A meeting with Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities Broadband Services Coordinator Curtis Dean, which was originally scheduled for April 28th, is then expected to be rescheduled. The Council will then consider approval of the third payment for the Downtown Façade Rehabilitation Project and the final item on the agenda is discussion and possible approval of an old pool demolition bid.
The meeting takes place at 6pm at the Adel City Hall.
