The public is invited to tomorrow’s groundbreaking ceremony at Cobblestone Hotels in Jefferson.

Work started last week on the 72-room, three-story hotel that will be attached to Wild Rose Jefferson entertainment facility on the northwest intersection of US Highway 30 and Iowa Highway 4.  The hotel will also have a swimming pool.

A proposed agreement with the City of Jefferson allows for $1,015,000 in tax increment financing and the creation of ten jobs.  The City Council is expected to vote on the new agreement at tonight’s meeting.

Chris VanCampenhout with Brimark Builders, LLC. says their contract with Cobblestone Hotels has a construction completion date of August 1st, the same day that Wild Rose Jefferson is due to open.

The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for noon on Wednesday, February 25th.
