Greene County High School qualified three wrestlers for the Class 2A portion of the 2015 Iowa High School State Tournament Feb. 19-21 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines and pairings for the eight-mat event have been revealed. Seniors Abe Yoder (132) and Jordan Challen (138) are district champions, which means they wrestle a runner-up from another district in the opening round. Sophomore Hunter Ruth (195) is a district runner-up, meaning he meets a champion from another district in the opening round. There are 16 wrestlers in all 14 weight classes and the top eight are place winners. Each wrestler is guaranteed at least two matches at the State Tournament and some could wrestle as many as six times. The Rams and other Class 2A programs will have first round matches at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 19. Wrestlers losing in the opening round will wrestle a second time on Thursday afternoon, while first round winners won’t take the mat again until Friday.
