The Perry High School jazz band invites everyone to come check out a unique concert this evening.

Perry Instrumental Music Director Brandon Weeks says the local students will be pairing up with the Iowa State University Jazz Ensemble for a joint concert.

“Our jazz band, PHS Jazz, is going to play two or three tunes and then their jazz band is going to play four or five and then we might play one together.”

Weeks says this is a great opportunity for his students to see and understand what it’s like to perform at the collegiate level, plus it gives the community a chance to see a “phenomenal” band perform free of charge.

The concert takes place this evening at 7pm in the Performing Arts Center at Perry High School.
