Track season is officially underway as both the ADM girls and boys track and field teams have their first practices today.

The Tiger girls are coming off a strong season in which they won a Raccoon River Conference title and placed 9th at the state meet in Des Moines, and thankfully, return a lot of star power.

Senior sprinter Kari Dufoe finished second and third in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at state.

Other returning state qualifiers include junior Brennan Hook in the 3,000-meter dash, junior Brianna Mueller in the 800-meter dash, sophomore Sydney Bertman in the long jump, 200-meter relay and as part of the distance medley relay, and senior Jenny Wicks, who was with Mueller in the district champion 4×800 relay team.

The latter three are still competing on the hardwood for the ADM girls basketball team, which takes on Carroll at home on Wednesday in the opening round of the regional playoffs.
