Nominations for the sixth annual Greene County Community “Impact Award” are now being accepted.

The award recognizes a volunteer who has devoted their time and talent to Greene County through social, educational or cultural activities that’s not through their business or profession.

Past recipients include Lawrence Geisler of Jefferson in 2010, the Churdan Town and Country Band in 2011, Carson Griffith of Grand Junction won in 2012, Tim and Vickie Robbins were recognized in 2013 and in 2014, the award went to Doug Hawn of Scranton.

There are six members on the “Impact” board which includes Geisler as the first-ever honoree.

Nomination forms are available at any of the county libraries.  The deadline to submit the forms are by March 7th with the announcement of the recipient on April 13th.  Forms must be mailed to 506 South Walnut Street in Jefferson.  A ceremony will follow on May 3rd at the Greene County Courthouse rotunda.
