Recently, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released a memo regarding the perceived lack of sportsmanship at athletic events around the state. Tod Broman is West Central Valley’s Activity Director, and says that sportsmanship at West Central Valley basketball games is good. When reviewing feedback from officials and the athletic unions, Broman says the place where West Central Valley’s players and fans could use the most improvement would probably be during football games. “The fans have improved, some of the problems with the football players is that there are a few athletes who make names for themselves, and one person’s bad behavior can reflect badly on the whole team.”

We’ll continue our conversation with Tod Broman about high school event sportsmanship today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County, which will air during the 9 am, noon and 5 pm hours.
