A deputy was dispatched to an accident involving two semi-tractor trailers that had side swiped each other on Highway 30 near X Avenue. A 2005 Kenworth semi-tractor trailer being driven by Aaron Donald Twedt 45, of Ellsworth, Iowa, reported that he was westbound on 220th when a semi-tractor trailer being driven by Jeremiah Isaiah Green 31, of Lake City, Iowa, crossed the center line and struck his westbound rig. Neither driver reported any injuries, but the semi that Aaron Twedt was driving and owned by The SansGaard Group of Story City, Iowa, sustained an estimated $20,000 in damages. Koster Grain of Carroll, Iowa, owned the semi that Jeremiah Green was driving. Damages to the Koster owned semi were estimated to be $10,000 and Jeremiah Green was issued a citation for Driving on the Wrong Side of a Two Way Highway.

A deputy was dispatched to another accident involving two semi-tractor trailers on Highway 144 (U Avenue) near 215th Street. A semi-tractor trailer being driven by Timothy Ray Cummings 61, of Grand Junction was northbound on U Avenue when a southbound semi-tractor trailer being driven by Eugene Dwyane Davis 61, of Grand Junction, and hauling a John Deere planter, sideswiped the mirror of the Cumming’s semi-tractor. No injuries were reported and only minor damage was reported to the Cumming’s semi.

A deputy was advised of a harassment concern in the 1000 block of Sand Street in Churdan.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office asked a deputy to check for a male subject that may be in Greene County and has a valid arrest warrant in Calhoun County.

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police department with checking an abandoned E-911 call in the 200 block of West Harrison Street, while the Jefferson Officer was on another call.

A deputy assisted a Probation Officer with locating a male client in Scranton.

A deputy spoke with a Paton resident about a Craig’s List scam. She had placed an ad on Craig’s List to sell an appliance for a certain amount of money. She then received a check in the mail for three times the asking price. She was then instructed to cash the check and keep the amount needed for her appliance and then give the larger amount of cash to the person picking up the appliance . The female was advised not to cash the check, as it was not a valid check and she would be out the appliance and a large amount of money.

A deputy assisted with traffic control while a vehicle was pulled back onto the roadway on Highway 4 near 160th Street.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
