The Greene County Master Gardeners are hosting a unique event next week.
Master Gardener Jean Walker will lead participants in a hands-on activity to create Fairy Gardens. It’s a way to mix horticulture with a theme to add a personal touch to a yard. Fairy Gardens are typically found in large pots, rain barrels, bird baths and wheel barrows. They can be placed around a tree or by the front door of a house for visitors to enjoy.
Walker will also provide information and a demonstration on designing terrariums.
The “Make & Take” workshop will be on Thursday, February 12th from 7-8:30pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson. Pre-registrations are required by today with a $15 per person fee.
To sign up, contact the Greene County ISU Extension office in Jefferson at 386-2138. You can also call the ISU Extension Hortline with any questions about gardens or terrariums at 515-294-3108.
