Greene County students are once again participating in a fundraiser to promote healthy hearts.

Physical Education Teacher Lori Danner says second through eighth grade students will be learning about heart healthy exercises and raise funds with their annual Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart community service project from now until February 9th.  Students will be asking the community’s help in raising funds this year.

Danner says proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward the American Heart Association.  Last year, the Greene County School District saved 183 lives and raised $9,458.  Danner’s yearly goal is to raise over $10,000.

The American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance are co-sponsoring the program.
