Greene County plays a basketball make up varsity doubleheader tonight in Des Moines vs. Saydel on KG98. Coverage starts at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 and the boys to follow. It’s more of the same Friday night when Greene County goes to Gilbert for a girl/boy twin bill on KG98.

The Rams girls and boys both lost on Tuesday night in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play at Nevada. The girls fell to Class 3A number four Nevada 48-13, while the Cubs won the boys’ game 56-51.The Saydel girls had been ranked all season, but dropped out last week. They responded by upsetting the Cubs last Friday and are 13-3 overall. Greene County has a 7-8 record. The Saydel and Greene County boys have identical 6-8 overall marks. Ram sophomore Trey Tucker continues to lead Class 3A in individual scoring at more than 25 points per game.

These road doubleheaders will be the third and fourth in a row for the Greene County teams.
