The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Department arrested three individuals on drug and weapon charges after Chief Deputy Bennett approached a suspicious vehicle in front of a storage unit, shortly after 8:16 am on January 21st. The driver of the vehicle, who was asleep, was identified as Terry King, of Des Moines. King had an outstanding warrant from Polk County. He was detained and was found to have methamphetamine in his pocket, and a loaded handgun inside his vehicle. There were two more people inside of the storage unit who were identified as Mason McNeill and Shy Terry, both of Jamaica. Both McNeill and Terry were also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. All three individuals were arrested. King faces charges of third offense possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm as a felon. McNeill is charged with second offense possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Terry is facing charges of first offense possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. All three subjects were transported to the Guthrie County jail.
