The Greene County wrestling team will try to improve on its 1-4 Heart of Iowa Activities Conference record tonight in Alleman vs. North Polk and South Hamilton. The action starts at 6 p.m. in the NP middle school gym #1, which was the high school gym prior to the 2013-14  school year when a new high school opened just south of what is now the middle school.

The Rams are 6-9 overall in dual meets after splitting a pair of meets on Tuesday in Gilbert, losing 42-25 to the Tigers, then beating Kuemper Catholic (Carroll), 39-24. This week will be capped by a return trip to Gilbert for the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference tournament. The Rams have won the last three HOIAC tournament titles.

Senior Jordan Challen and junior Tommy Bradshaw have the best records on the team. Challen, ranked sixth in 2A at 138 lbs. by The Predicament, is 24-1 this season and 122-38 in his varsity career. Bradshaw is ranked sixth at 145 and is 22-2  this season and 96-21 in his career, which started in Missouri. He’s in his second season with the Rams. Also, senior Abe Yoder (132 lbs.) is 25-4 this season and 103-44 in his career.
