Fire units from Rippey, Grand Junction, Jefferson and Perry all responded to a house fire in the 300 block of 3rd Street in Rippey. A rental property owned by Mark Quillen of Perry was totally engulfed in flames when the first fire units arrived on scene. No one was in the residence at the time of the fire. Quillen stated that the family renting the property was in the process of moving out. The house was a total loss and the fire is still under investigation at this time. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted by the Grand Junction EMS.
A deputy was advised of the possible theft of personal property from a residence in the 600 block of Lincoln Street in Scranton. The property was voluntarily returned to the home and no further action was needed.
A deputy is investigating the report of check fraud at the Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction.
A deputy investigated the report of illegal dumping along the roadway in the 1400 block of Kirkwood Avenue. The deputy checked for a personal identifier within the disposed household trash.
A deputy was dispatched for the report of cattle on the roadway at 330th Street and K Avenue. No cattle were located by the deputy at the time of his arrival.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
