The ADM wrestling team hits the road for a pair of Raccoon River Conference meets at Carroll, where they’ll take on the conference’s other set of Tigers and the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jays.

The duals begin a busy stretch for ADM, which has six competitions over the next 10 days that culminates with the Raccoon River Conference meet a week from Saturday (January 31), also at Carroll.

After a strong showing at the Tiger Invitational in Adel this past Saturday, head coach Justin Schmauss said he’s confident in the way his wrestlers are performing down the stretch.

“I think we’re sitting right where we need to be. They’re ready to work hard when we need them to, and they’re focused,” he said. “I’ve got guys really wrestling well. Quite a few guys are wrestling I think the best that they have all year. So as long as they just keep that level of intensity and wrestling – wrestling well – they’ll be fine.”

Junior Zach Johnston, the No. 4 ranked wrestler in Class 2A at 160 pounds, will return to the mat after sitting out the Tiger Invitational due to illness. He has just one loss all season.
