The Perry Jayettes used a 23-6 run in the third quarter to rally past Woodward Granger Tuesday night 54-31 in non conference girls basketball.  Perry trailed by as many as seven in the first half and trailed 23-19 at halftime.  Perry used a dominant 1-3-1 full court trap to turn the table on Woodward Granger in the third quarter creating 6 Hawk turnovers in the opening 90 seconds.  Claire Marburger scored a game high 24 points including 16 in the second half while Maggie Lowe added 19 points.   Emma Olejniczak chipped in 5.

There was a scary moment late in the game for Perry when Lowe went down with what appeared to be an ankle injury.  Her status was unknown after the game.  The Jayettes have won 9 in row to improve to 12-2 while Woodward Granger falls to 7-8.  The Hawks were led by Dalaney Bice’s 7 points and Riley Jamison’s 7.

Perry will host Carlisle in a critical RRC showdown this Friday night at the Pavilion.  Perry, Carlisle and Ballard are all tied for first place in the Raccoon River Conference.
