For government agencies all around Guthrie County, it’s budget season. And while year by year some organizations get all of the items on their wishlist, and some get their funding cut, Bob Kempf, Emergency Management Coordinator for Guthrie and Adair County says his budget is pretty flat this year, “Our budgets run pretty much the same from year to year, except for maybe special projects year to year, or grants we apply for and receive are the biggest things that change in our budget. Otherwise, our budget is pretty stable with things like salaries, fuel insurance, office supplies, phone bills, that sort of stuff.”
There will be much public discussion about the other Guthrie County department’s budgets at both Tuesday and Thursday’s Board of Supervisor meetings.
