It’s a tough non-conference test for the ADM girls basketball team, which will make its second trip to Iowa’s dutch community Tuesday night to take on Pella.
ADM’s girls are coming off a 65-42 win over Bondurant on Friday that snapped a six-game losing streak. They’ll face a much more difficult challenge in the No. 12 and white-hot Dutch (10-2), who are on an eight-game winning streak in which they’ve won by an average of 20 points, and that factors in a two-point win that started the streak.
In particular, Pella has succeeded with a stout defense that allows just 40 points per game. ADM (4-8) will try to surpass that average by riding the hot hand of junior Brianna Mueller, who is averaging 14 points per game on 52 percent shooting (25-of-48) over her last four games.
The Tigers will also try to get over the hump against ranked opponents, after having a lead heading into the fourth quarter of their six-point loss to No. 4 Carlisle last Tuesday.
The girls game will tip-off at 6:15 p.m., and can be heard live on K107 and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
