Taylor Lathrum and the Jayettes will have to play big tonight against a taller Boone squad.

The Perry Jayettes will look to establish a fast tempo tonight when they host Boone in a 6:00 Raccoon River Conference battle at the Sports Pavilion.  The Jayettes have won seven in a row and currently sit in second place in the conference.  Perry senior Amy Marckres knows that Boone will present a big challenge with three six-footers in the lineup.  The Torreadors nearly upset Perry last season as the Jayettes survived in overtime.  Boone was able to slow down the game and dominate the offensive glass.  Marckres feels her Perry squad will be ready tonight and will try to hold their own against the taller Boone unit.

“I think we are a little bit of ahead of where we were last year.  It seems like were playing better team defense and flowing more together as a team.  I can’t wait to find out what the next few games hold.”

Boone enters tonight’s matchup with a record of 7-4 and is led by Serena Sandvig’s 12 points per game.  Six-two forward Mariah McPartland has grabbed a team high 80 rebounds for Boone.  Perry enters play with a record of 10-2 and 5-1 in the RRC.  Shawn Kenney will have the play by play starting at 5:50 tonight on KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
