It’s back to the friendly confines of the North Gym for the ADM basketball teams, who return home following a three-game road swing for a conference doubleheader tonight against the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jays and Lady Jays.

The girls game features a pair of teams on extended losing streaks that are tied for seventh in the Raccoon River standings with 1-5 conference records. Bondurant’s girls are on a seven-game losing streak in which they have averaged just 36 points per game.

ADM, meanwhile, comes in trying to snap a six-game losing streak. The Tigers (3-8, 1-5 RRC) had a similar offensive stretch to the Lady Jays (3-9, 1-5 RRC) in which they averaged about 30 points per game over the first four games of their losing streak. In their last two, however, ADM has scored 49 and 46 points to up their season average to just over 44.3 points per game, all while coming up short in upset bids.

The boys game pits a pair of squads trending in opposite directions. The Blue Jays (7-3, 5-1 RRC) are riding high following their 89-81 win over Perry on Tuesday that gave them sole possession of first place in the conference standings. ADM will have to watch out for Bondurant’s Dylan Storey, who poured in 38 points in that win.

The Tigers, on the other hand, have lost two in a row after they snapped a six-game losing streak with a dramatic road overtime at Boone last Friday. ADM (2-9, 2-4 RRC)  has in particular struggled on the defense end, allowing 77 and 75 points over their last two games. The Tigers are also 0-4 at home.

Pregame coverage of our ADM basketball doubleheader begins at 5:45 p.m. tonight, with the girls to tip at 6 and the boys game to follow on K107 and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
