We’ve told you about how the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce is looking to reorganize this year, one step in doing so was changing their mission statement.
Executive Director Bob Wilson says it was time for a change and more straight forward approach.
“Our old mission statement was quite lengthy, it was vague, it covered a whole bunch of stuff that we didn’t know if it was necessary or if that’s really the direction we took. So we made it a little more concise” says Wilson.
So the mission statement went from being several sentences, followed by bullet points, down to one sentence.
“To promote and improve the business environment, stimulate a vibrant local economy and produce a cooperative effort to enhance the overall quality of life.”
Wilson says the Chamber will continue to do a lot of the same things they’ve done in the past, but the goal is to tighten things up and focus on member benefits.
