Both Greene County varsity basketball teams are at home tonight vs. PCM, marking the first home action of 2015 for the Rams. The Greene County girls are 4-6 overall and they’ve dropped five straight games, while the Greene County boys have lost four of their last five and are 4-5 overall. Stopping those skids won’t be easy as the PCM girls are 7-3 and the boys are 7-2, and both teams have lost just one Heart of Iowa Activities Conference game.

The Rams lost two girls’ games and two boys’ games on the road last weekend, and were very competitive in both. The girls’ lost at Roland-Story 54-48 on Friday, then fell 58-53 on Saturday in Gowrie vs. Southeast Valley. The boys were tied at the half at once-beaten R-S before falling 73-62, then saw a 13-point fourth quarter lead disappear on Saturday vs. SEV before losing 60-57.

Coverage between the Rams and Mustangs from the middle school gym in Jefferson starts at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys at approximately 7:30 p.m. on both KG98 and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
