The ADM girls basketball team will try to snap a five-game losing streak tonight, and continuing a recent theme, it won’t be easy.
The Tigers take on their third ranked opponent in their last four games when they head to Carlisle tonight for a conference doubleheader against the No. 4 ranked Wildcats. ADM lost by 15 against No. 5 Perry last Tuesday and at No. 1 Harlan 67-49.
But the Tigers (3-7, 1-4 RRC) should have some confidence after the effort they put forth against the Cyclones over the weekend. Head coach Corey Schneider praised his team for playing their most complete game of the year against a tough opponent, and their 49 points scored were the most in their last five games.
Continuing another recent theme, ADM will have to contain a high-scoring team. Carlisle (9-1, 5-1 RRC) is lead by senior Kaleigh Haus, whose 20.1 points per game average ranks fourth in Class 4A. She is far from the Wildcats’ only option on offense, however, as three other players average double figures scoring for a team that puts up a class-leading 65.1 points per game.
Pregame coverage for the Tigers’ girls-boys doubleheader begins at 5:45 p.m. The girls will tip at 6 with the boys game to follow on K107 and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
