It’s a busy next three days for the ADM wrestling Tigers, who head to Carlisle tonight for matches against the host Wildcats and Winterset. The Tigers then won’t have much time to recover, with the Waterloo West Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

ADM enters tonight’s matches 4-3 as a team. Individually, two wrestlers are looking to remain undefeated, in senior Trevor Harsh, the No. 4 ranked wrestler in the state’s 138-pound class, and junior Zach Johnston, the state’s No. 1 ranked wrestler at 160 pounds. Both are 10-0.

And while those two, along with junior Nathan Heath — ranked sixth in the state among 285-pounders — are used to getting the most attention, Johnston said ADM has some high-quality wrestlers fans may not have heard of.

“Yea, I think a lot of our guys after last season really thought about it and put in a lot of extra and few coming back from injuries that weren’t here last year,” Johnston said. “I think they want to do something.”

To name a couple, that group includes junior Kyle Wilkerson and sophomore Cole Bennett, who have 10 and 9 wins, respectively.
