The 2015 grant applications for the Greene County Community Foundation are now available.

President Tim Heisterkamp says any non-profit organization can apply to receive a grant for the 2015 grant cycle.  He explains other details with the application process.

“And then they fill out an application and then that goes to our entire Greene County Community Foundation Board which right now has 31 members on it.  And we get together in February and we read through all the applications and through a very democratic process, we decide which projects are worthy enough to receive the funds and then we make those distributions in early April.”

He points out that this past April, they awarded $132,000 in grants, but had over $300,000 in requests for projects, so not every organization receives funds.

Applications can be found at any Greene County library, at the Greene County ISU Extension office or by clicking HERE.  Grant guidelines are also available at those locations.

Deadline to submit applications is by 4:30pm on February 12th to the Extension office in Jefferson.
