jefferson welcomeThe Jefferson City Council will meet tonight.

The Council is expected to approve the first reading to amend an ordinance to include planned unit development for zoning regulations to allow for more flexibility for housing development following a public hearing on the topic.

The Council will also consider approving to pay the fifth and final installment to King Construction for the water line improvement projects around Hy-Vee Incorporated’s property, an agreement to extend a fiber optic cable permit from the armory to the school until 2025 and submit the Tax Increment Financing report to the state.

The Council will consider a contract for a vertical platform lift at the Jefferson Public Library.  Due to the current state of the equipment, it needs to be replaced before further operation can happen.  The total cost of the contract with Access Elevator Lifts, Incorporated is estimated at $29,980 of which they require a downpayment of half that amount which the Council will also consider paying for it.

The meeting will end with a workshop with the Jefferson Matters: Main Street Board.

The regular meeting will be at 5:30pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.
