The Jefferson Public Library will host a special event before they close early this week in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says the story of the “Elf on the Shelf” will be presented in the children’s department of the library from 4-5:30pm today.  It is for youth ages four to fourteen.

Participants can also get involved with crafts and have a free snack.

It is in conjunction with Jefferson Telecom who is also going to invite Telly the Elf back to their showroom from November 28th through December 24th.  Those who find the “Elf on the Shelf” can enter their name for a drawing.

Jefferson Telecom will also participate with “Elf on the Shelf” activities at the Scranton Public Library on November 26th at 3:30pm and the Paton Public Library on December 4th at 4pm.

Clark would also like to remind everyone that the Jefferson Library will be closing early this Wednesday at 6pm and will remain close all day on Thursday for Thanksgiving.
