Lately, Ebola has fallen out of the ever changing news cycle of the mainstream media. It is however a topic that still remains in the recurring thoughts of health professionals, who continue to prepare for the worst. There have been no cases of Ebola in Iowa, but those like Stuart Rescue Director Ron Ross continue to keep note of any Ebola-like symptoms, especially if the patient has recently been out of the country, “We’re kind of trusting in the CDC and World Health Organization and stuff to be tracking these cases and keeping us updated. We definitely want to keep it in the back of our minds if we see these symptoms. We need to get a thorough history to see if they’ve had any travel out of the country or anything pertinent like that, which could signal an Ebola case.”
Ebola Still On The Mind Of Healthcare Professionals
Ross also says that local and county organizations are constantly working with their State and Federal partners such as the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control in monitoring things like Ebola.
