The Community Players of Greene County will be holding open auditions this weekend for its next show, “Pools Paradise” by Philip King.

Director Josh Tuel is from Jefferson and says he’s really excited about doing his first directing gig with the Community Players.  He has some experience with the group, having participated when he was in high school.  He’s also directed shows while attending Morningside College where he graduated with a degree in theater in 1999.  He has since returned to Jefferson two years ago.

“Pools Paradise” is a British farce that revolves around the characters in a soccer betting pool.  Tuel talks about why the Community Players wanted to do this show.

“They had done, ‘See How They Run’, two or three years ago which is by the same author.  And this show is not a sequel but it does have several of the same characters and that show was a lot of fun and people seem to enjoy it so they decided to do the second one.”

The auditions for next March’s performances will take place at the Jefferson Masonic Lodge at 120 North Wilson Street at 4pm on Sunday, November 23rd and 7pm on Monday, November 24th.

There are four male and three females parts in the play.  Tuel points out that if you cannot make it to one of the scheduled audition times, to call him and he can make arrangements so that you can audition.  His number is 515-370-0919.
