A handful of people attended Wednesday night’s steering committee meeting to continue working on the Greene County marketing plan.
The committee had to decide on an ad agency to help them promote the assets of Greene County to their target demographic of people between the ages of 50-65 who like to travel and learn about historical information.
The committee decided to go with Blue Space from Denison instead of Buzz Creative from Dubuque. They felt better about Blue Space developing the county’s brand more so than Buzz Creative who primarily develops casino branding.
There are still issues that need to be addressed by the committee. One is setting up a meeting with Blue Space representatives to find out how much work the committee needs to do before Blue Space can start their process of making a logo and a brand for the county. A budget and funding needs to be established and then finding the most direct communication channels to get the marketing message to their target audience will be the final step.
The goal is to have a complete marketing campaign ready by the beginning of next year.
