The ADM girls basketball team has its final tuneup for the regular season Wednesday night with a varsity Jamboree against Lenox at Southwestern Community College in Creston.

Tipoff is at 7:45 p.m. for the two-quarter exhibition that features licensed officials and actual score-keeping. The preseason game of sorts comes after ADM unofficially scrimmaged three teams at Johnston on Saturday. Each quarter lasts eight minutes and will be coached like a first and second half in college basketball, ADM head coach Corey Schneider said.

Teams like ADM that have a new head coach need all the preseason competition they can get. Thursday’s game provides another opportunity for the Tigers to work through their new coaches’ motion offense, which Schneider said will take some time to develop.

“It’s going to be a work in progress, for sure,” Schneider said. “Hopefully if we stress enough defensively, the offense will be the work in progress more than anything because there’s no a lot of different philosophies in terms of defense. I’m hoping we’ll be strong on defense and the offense will kind of work its way through the year.”
