Local District 4 State Troopers are reminding citizens that just like you are required by law to move over for the flashing red and blue lights of a squad car, ambulance or fire truck, you are similarly required to move over for the flashing amber lights of a snow plow. Failure to yield to emergency vehicles could be costly, you could face a $1,000 fine plus added surcharges and court costs, and you could have your license revoked for up to a year. Safe local winter driving habits are especially important on Interstate 80, and other major highways, where both speeds and stakes are at their highest.
