The DNR reports that bucks taken State-wide this year is up by 1,000 from last year, and does are down 1,000 from last year. Guthrie County is an outlier to that statistic where nearly identical numbers of each have been taken this season. Jim Coffey is a forest wildlife research technician for the Iowa DNR and also says that numbers have dropped off since the snowy, cold weather hit, but despite that, deer harvest is on a very similar pace as 2013.
